Mojtaba Nakhjavani was born in Tabriz in 1959. His father, master Morteza Rassam Nakhjavani was one of the greatest painters of Iran with a very distinct and unique style of his own, who studied with the late Mir Mosavvrr Arjhangi and Ali Mohammad Heydarian. He graduated from high school in 1978 and immediately entered the Technical university of Tabriz pursuing a masters degree in mechanics. In 1981, he founded(established) the Nakhjavani Art Gallery and since then, he has been teaching art and painting techniques for art lovers. He received his masters degree in 1985.In 1986, he married Roya and conceived two girls, Pariya and Parla. During 90's and 2000's, he was teaching architectural design and painting in various art colleges and in 2001, he succeeded in founding and establishing the first Private College of art only for females. He believes that every artist must comprehend the "shape" and initially be able to project it "As IS" in his/her design and first after mastering this phase, the artist is free to start experiencing of de-formation of the "shape" and at the end start expressing his ,or her own style, that could be expressionism, abstract, cubism, surrealism or fauvism, or basically stay true to the nature. Thus calculated and short strokes of the brush, along with nature-like colors, in the 60's and for two decades, could strongly and freely be expanded in two different dimensions.
In 2001, a book titled "An overview of Master Morteza Nakhjavani's life and paintings" was compiled and published by him.Painting and teaching art to talanted students and art-lovers in variuos conservatoris and schools, has been taking most of Mojstaba's time.
